How Long Does It Take to Hear Back After a Databricks Interview?

Databricks publishes a target. Its careers site says it aims to share interview feedback within 48 hours of your final interview. It adds that the timing may vary with business needs. It also tells candidates to contact the recruiter if one week passes with no feedback. Candidates report a wider range than the target. Many report two to three business days after the final round. Others report up to two weeks. Databricks also says the whole process typically runs two to three months. That figure covers the first call to the offer, not the wait after one round.

Timeline by Stage

Databricks publishes seven steps. They are identifying opportunities, applying online, connecting with Talent Acquisition, skill assessments, interviewing, reference checks, and decision and offer.

StageTypical waitWhat is happening
Application1 to 3 weeksTalent Acquisition screens the resume
Recruiter call, about 30 minutes3 to 7 daysLevel is confirmed and the screen is booked
Skill assessment or take-home1 to 2 weeksReviewers read the submission
Technical phone screenAbout 1 weekFeedback is written, then the onsite is booked
Onsite loop, four to six interviews48 hours stated, a few days to 2 weeks reportedInterviewers file notes and the hiring team reviews them
Reference checks1 to 2 weeksDatabricks contacts your references
Decision and offerA few daysLevel and compensation approval

Does Databricks Send Rejection Emails?

Yes, and later-stage rejections are often given by phone. Candidates report a recruiter email after a failed screen. After the onsite, candidates report a short call instead.

Databricks does not promise written feedback. It says it aims to share feedback, and candidates report getting it by phone. Some candidates also report no reply at all.

One more step affects the wait. Databricks lists reference checks before the decision and offer. So a wait can appear after every interview round has already gone well.

How to Follow Up

Wait three business days after the final round. Then send one short email to your recruiter.

Hi [name], thank you for the onsite last week. I am writing to ask about the timeline for a decision. Databricks aims to share feedback within about 48 hours, so I wanted to check that nothing is needed from me. I am still very interested in the role.

Send a second email a week later if there is still no reply. Databricks also tells candidates with competing offers to ask their recruiter for a faster answer. So give the deadline date if you have one.

Can You Reapply, and How Soon?

Databricks says yes and publishes no waiting period. Its careers site encourages candidates to check the careers page, which it updates often. It also asks you to match your resume to each role you apply for.

Candidate reports do not agree on a cooldown. Some report six to twelve months. Others report no wait at all.

Treat six months as a safe personal gap for the same role and team. Applying to a different team or office sooner is common and is reported to work.

What to Wear

Databricks states that all interviews are virtual unless your recruiter says otherwise. It uses Google Meet for them. So dress for video.

A plain shirt in one solid color works for every round. Databricks also asks candidates to use a clean, uncluttered background. Test the camera, the microphone, and the meeting link a day early.

If a round is held at an office, wear business casual. Engineers there dress casually, so a suit is not expected.
