How Long Does It Take to Hear Back After a Deliveroo Interview?

Deliveroo does not publish wait times, and candidate reports range from about two weeks to about two months. Self reported figures on Glassdoor average about 24 days across all Deliveroo roles. Candidates report slow feedback between stages, and many report that they received no feedback until every stage was complete.

Two steps after your last interview explain part of the wait, because Deliveroo runs a hiring committee and then an allocation step that matches you to a team. A decision inside about a week of the loop is typical for a company of this size, not confirmed.

Timeline by Stage

Deliveroo publishes no wait times, so the waits below are typical for a company of this size rather than confirmed figures. Only the overall length of about two weeks to about two months comes from candidate reports.

StageTypical waitWhat is happening
ApplicationOne to three weeksA recruiter reviews applications in Greenhouse, the hiring system Deliveroo uses
After the prescreenA few days to two weeksThe recruiter sends your HackerRank test link
After the technical screenOne to two weeksThe test is scored and the full loop is scheduled
Between loop interviewsDays, often inside one weekThe interviews are usually booked together
After the full loopOne to two weeksThe hiring committee reviews every result
Offer or rejectionA few daysThe recruiter arranges a call with you

One deadline in this process belongs to you rather than to the recruiter. Backend candidates must submit the coding exercise at least 48 hours before the coding interview. Put that date in your calendar as soon as the loop is booked, because the interview starts from the code you send.

Does Deliveroo Send Rejection Emails?

Deliveroo's hiring page states that the recruiter and the hiring manager meet to discuss your feedback after the interviews finish. The same page says unsuccessful candidates receive a call to review that feedback, and to discuss other suitable roles where relevant. Candidate reports do not always match that promise.

Some candidates describe detailed feedback on strengths and weaknesses, delivered quickly and in writing. Others report recruiters who stopped replying, including after the candidate had sent available times. One candidate reported a month of interviews that ended with no feedback at all.

A rejection after an online test usually comes by email rather than by call at companies of this size, and Deliveroo publishes no rule on this. Ask for a decision date at the end of every stage, so you know when a wait has become unusual.

How to Follow Up

Send one email to your recruiter, and wait a full week past the date they gave you. If they gave no date at all, wait ten business days before you write.

"Hi [Name], thank you for arranging the architecture interview on [date]. I enjoyed the design discussion, especially the questions about failure handling. I remain very interested in the [role] position and wanted to ask about next steps. Please let me know if you need anything further from me."

Keep the message to four sentences. One follow up is fine, and a second one a week later is also fine, but a third is not. If you completed the full loop, ask directly for the feedback call that the hiring page describes.

Can You Reapply, and How Soon?

Deliveroo does not publish a reapply rule, and candidates do not report one either. Six to twelve months is the usual wait at companies of this size, which is typical and not confirmed. The hiring page says recruiters may discuss other suitable roles with unsuccessful candidates, so ask about open roles in your reply to the rejection.

Deliveroo lists many engineering roles at the same time, and a different team may suit your experience better. Change something real before you apply again, such as a shipped project, a language from the stack, or a production system you now own.

What to Wear

Most Deliveroo interviews happen on video, and the hiring page says later rounds run over video call or in person at one of the offices. The same page states there is no formal dress code, and it tells candidates to wear whatever feels most comfortable.

For video, wear a plain shirt or a clean top in one color, then check your camera, your light, and your background before the call starts. For an office visit, clean casual clothes are correct, such as a shirt with dark pants or jeans. No suit is needed, and the engineers interviewing you will not wear one.
