How Long Does It Take to Hear Back After a Groww Interview?
Candidates report about one week between the online test and the first interview, and roughly two to three weeks from first contact to a decision. Self-reported aggregate samples place the average process length near two weeks. Several candidates report a full three weeks, and a few report an offer within a day or two of the final round.
Gaps between the later rounds are reported as short, from the same day to about three days, because those rounds are often scheduled close together. The internship path adds a take-home assignment of about two days, and reported gaps between the rounds that follow it are one to three days.
Timeline by Stage
| Stage | Typical wait | What is happening |
|---|---|---|
| After applying | Days to several weeks | Recruiters screen resumes in batches |
| After the recruiter call | 1 to 7 days | The test link is sent out |
| After the online test | About 1 week | Results are graded and shortlists are made |
| Between interview rounds | Same day to about 3 days | Interviewers are scheduled |
| After the final round | 1 day to about 1 week | Feedback is collected and the offer is approved |
These are reported ranges rather than promises, and a holiday period or a paused role makes every wait in this table longer.
Does Groww Send Rejection Emails?
Candidates report both outcomes. Some receive a call from the recruiter with the result of each round, including the rounds they did not clear. Others report no reply at all after a round, which is common at companies of this size but is not a stated Groww policy.
Detailed written feedback is rare in these reports. Where any feedback does arrive, it usually comes verbally from the recruiter, and usually only if you ask for it. If a week passes with no message after your final round, treat the silence as a reason to follow up rather than as a decision.
How to Follow Up
Send one short email to the recruiter rather than to the interviewers. Wait about five business days after your last round, then write plainly.
"Hello [name], thank you for arranging the interviews for the [role] position. I enjoyed the discussion about [one specific topic from a round]. I wanted to check whether there is any update on the decision, and whether you need anything further from me. I remain very interested in the role."
Send that message once. If nothing returns within another week, send one more short note and then continue with your other applications. Two messages are reasonable, and more than two does not improve the result.
Can You Reapply, and How Soon?
Groww does not publish a reapplication rule. For companies of this size, six months is the typical wait before a fresh application, and that is a general convention rather than a confirmed Groww policy. Treat a rejection as specific to one round: if the machine coding round was the problem, spend those months building timed programs rather than solving more coding puzzles.
Applying through a referral is usually more effective than a second application through the careers page alone. If your notice period becomes shorter, tell the recruiter, because product companies in India favor candidates who can join sooner.
What to Wear
Most rounds for engineering roles are conducted on video. A plain collared shirt or a plain top is right for that setting. Avoid busy patterns, because they blur on a low-bandwidth connection. Sit where the light comes from in front of you rather than from behind you.
For an onsite round at the office, business casual is right, which means a collared shirt with trousers. Offices at Indian product companies are usually informal, so a suit is unnecessary. Test your camera, your microphone, and your coding environment on the day before the interview. Machine coding rounds run for as long as two hours, so keep water nearby.
How to Prepare
- Plan the calendar backwards. Read the Groww interview process and give yourself about three weeks of preparation before the recruiter call.
- Keep your other applications active. Interview elsewhere during the wait, because waiting is easier when another process is still open.
- Use the gap between rounds. Even a single day is enough to rehearse the design and machine coding rounds.
- Prepare the motivation answer early. It is asked in the first call and again at the end, as how to answer why Groww explains.
- Practice the coding patterns. Grokking the Coding Interview covers the array, tree, and graph problems reported in these rounds.
