How Long Does It Take to Hear Back After a JPMorgan Chase Interview?

JPMorgan Chase does not publish a decision timeline. Its careers site names four steps: Explore, Apply, Interview, and Decision. It also says the interview process differs for each position.

Candidates report a few weeks from application to offer. Gaps of a week or more between stages are normal. The firm states that it reviews applications on a rolling basis and cannot speed up a decision.

You do not have to wait for an email to learn the result. Log in to your profile on the job search page, where your status appears in the My Application section. Check there before you write to a recruiter.

Timeline by Stage

StageTypical waitWhat is happening
After you applyDays to several weeksApplications are reviewed on a rolling basis
After an online assessmentAbout one to two weeksResults are scored, then recruiters decide who continues
After a recorded video interviewAbout one to two weeksInterviewers watch the recordings on their own schedule
After the technical screenAbout one weekScheduling the final round
After the final roundAbout one to two weeksInterviewers compare notes across the day

Student program hiring is tied to recruiting seasons. Those timelines are tighter than the timelines for experienced roles.

The firm describes three kinds of assessment in public: structured live interviews, on demand recorded interviews, and virtual skills assessments. A recorded interview shows you a question on screen and records your answer. No person is on the call, so no one can tell you how it went.

Candidates report a final round with several back to back interviews. Many also report an online coding test earlier in the process. Both steps add a scoring wait before you hear anything.

Does JPMorgan Chase Send Rejection Emails?

Not always. The careers site tells candidates who do not get an offer to explore other roles on the site. It does not promise a rejection email.

The firm's own help pages describe a second signal. An application can disappear from your list, and one stated reason is that you are no longer being considered.

So check the My Application section rather than waiting for a message. Written feedback after a round is uncommon at a firm this large. The recruiter may give you one line on a call if you ask.

How to Follow Up

Send the note about one week after a round, or two weeks after an assessment. Keep it to four sentences, and ask for a date rather than a verdict.

Hi [Name], thank you for the [round name] on [date]. I enjoyed the discussion about [one specific topic]. I checked my profile and the status has not changed, so I wanted to ask whether there is an update. If a decision is still a few weeks away, could you tell me when to expect it?

Send one note. If silence continues for two more weeks, send one more. Then continue with your other applications.

Can You Reapply, and How Soon?

For student programs the firm publishes a rule. You may submit a new application for the same program in a future program year, if you still meet the eligibility requirements. It also recommends no more than three summer internship applications at once.

For experienced roles no rule is published. Typical for companies of this size, not confirmed: wait about six months, or apply sooner to a different team.

Two practical notes. You cannot change an application after you submit it, so withdraw it and apply again if something is wrong. The firm says many assessments cannot be retaken for a set period, so ask before you start one a second time.

What to Wear

Most first rounds are on video, and the dress code is stricter here than at a tech startup. For recorded interviews the firm recommends professional business attire and a space without distractions.

Follow that advice for live video rounds as well. A shirt with a jacket is a safe choice. Sit with a plain wall behind you, and test your camera and microphone the day before.

For an onsite at a JPMorgan Chase office, business attire is expected. A suit is the safe choice for a final round. If you need an adjustment for a disability, the firm accepts accommodation requests by email.
