How Long Does It Take to Hear Back After a Slack Interview?
Candidates report about one week between Slack stages. The full process takes about three to five weeks in most reports. After the final loop, the recruiter usually calls with a result within one week.
Exact day counts are scarce in public reports. Treat the numbers below as a planning guide, not a promise.
One fact explains part of the wait. Slack roles are posted and tracked in Salesforce's own careers system, so Salesforce's published hiring rules cover your application too.
Timeline by Stage
Candidates report three stages. First a recruiter call, then a technical screen, then a final loop of four to five interviews. A loop is the set of interviews held in one block, often on one day.
| Stage | Typical wait | What is happening |
|---|---|---|
| Application to recruiter reply | One to three weeks | Your resume is screened in the Salesforce system |
| Recruiter call to technical screen | About one week | The screen is booked with an engineer |
| Technical screen to result | About one week | Your code review or take home task is read |
| Result to final loop | One to two weeks | Four or five interviewers are found for one block |
| Final loop to decision | About one week | Interviewers meet and compare their notes |
Two details are specific to the Slack screen. Candidates report a pull request review, where you critique a proposed code change. Others report a small take home task instead.
Both formats take reviewer time, so a wait of a week here is normal. If your result is close, some candidates report one extra interview rather than a fast no.
Does Slack Send Rejection Emails?
There is no public promise about rejection notices. Some candidates report a short email. Others report no answer at all, even after asking twice.
Watch your application status in the careers portal. Candidates report a status of "In Consideration" while the team decides. The status often changes before any email arrives.
Detailed feedback is not guaranteed. You can ask the recruiter for one line on what was weak. Some share it, many do not.
How to Follow Up
Write to your recruiter only. Wait five business days after the technical screen. Wait seven business days after the final loop.
Hi [name], thank you for the time on [day]. I enjoyed the code review conversation and the questions about messaging. Could you tell me where my application stands and what the next step is? I am happy to wait if the team needs more time.
Keep it short and warm. Slack interviewers judge tone, and the same tone belongs in this email.
Can You Reapply, and How Soon?
Slack publishes no reapply rule of its own. Slack jobs are posted in Salesforce's careers system. Salesforce asks candidates there to apply to no more than three roles in a twelve month period.
Candidates do not report a fixed waiting period after a rejection. Six months is the usual advice for a company of this size. Treat that number as typical for companies of this size, not confirmed.
Apply again with something new to show. A shipped project or a public code sample helps more than a reworded resume.
What to Wear
Most of these interviews happen on video. The Salesforce careers site says candidates are expected to be on camera in every virtual interview.
Wear a plain shirt in one solid color. Avoid thin stripes on camera. Test your microphone and lighting before the call.
Salesforce requires an on-site interview at one of its offices before an offer. Business casual works there. Wear clean shoes and arrive about fifteen minutes early.
