How Long Does It Take to Hear Back After an Udaan Interview?
Reported waits at Udaan range from the same day to about four weeks. Campus drives finish within a few days, and shortlists between rounds are announced the same day. Off-campus reports are slower. Candidate reviews describe about four weeks from application to a final decision.
On job review sites, the most common answer about hearing back after the last stage is one or two days, and the next most common is about a week, although those reviews cover many roles, not only engineering. The complaint reported most often is silence after a machine coding submission.
Timeline by Stage
| Stage | Typical wait | What is happening |
|---|---|---|
| Application to first contact | Days to weeks; many candidates report the recruiter made first contact | Resume screening |
| Recruiter call to machine coding round | Usually within a week, typical rather than confirmed | Scheduling the timed session |
| Machine coding round to result | Same day in campus drives; days, weeks or no reply off campus | Review of the submitted code |
| Between interview rounds | Same day on campus; days to weeks off campus | Interviewer notes and scheduling |
| Final round to offer | Most often reported as one or two days, sometimes about a week | Internal approval |
Recruiters commonly ask about your notice period on the first call, so have the date ready, although that question is standard for Indian product companies rather than a confirmed Udaan step.
Does Udaan Send Rejection Emails?
Candidates report inconsistent replies, and some describe a fast response after the final round. Others report no reply at all after emailing a machine coding solution, and one wrote that no call ever came for the next round. Detailed feedback is rare, which is normal across Indian product companies.
Campus candidates get the clearest signal, because shortlists are announced between rounds on the same day.
Treat silence as a real outcome, not as a pending one, and keep applying elsewhere while you wait. If a recruiter gave you a date and that date passes, follow up once and then stop waiting for a reply.
How to Follow Up
Send one short email to your recruiter, five working days after the round, or two working days after a promised date has passed.
"Hello [name]. Thank you for arranging my [round name] for the [role] position on [date]. I am writing to ask whether there is an update on the next step. I remain very interested in the role, and I am happy to share anything else that helps. Thank you for your time."
Keep it to four sentences, and do not send a second follow up sooner than a week later. Two polite emails are acceptable, and a third rarely helps.
Can You Reapply, and How Soon?
Udaan does not publish a reapplication rule, and candidates do not report one. A wait of about six months is typical for companies of this size, and that is a convention rather than a confirmed Udaan policy.
Use the time deliberately. If the machine coding round ended your process, build two or three timed practice applications and keep them. If the design round ended it, prepare a deeper account of one system you built.
Apply for a different team or a different level rather than the same opening, and in the new application, say what changed since the last attempt. A named improvement is far more persuasive than a repeated resume.
What to Wear
Off-campus rounds are reported on video, on Google Meet and on Microsoft Teams. A plain collared shirt in a solid color is correct. Sit facing a light source, place the camera at eye level, and choose a quiet room. Test screen sharing before the machine coding round, because you will share an editor and run the program live.
Campus rounds are reported in person, and formal shirt and trousers are the safe choice there. Carry a laptop with your development setup already working, plus a charger.
How to Prepare
- Know the rounds before you count the days. The Udaan interview process lists each stage and its reported length.
- Start with the round that causes most rejections. The machine coding round is the main filter, and it is covered in the Udaan system design interview.
- Prepare the motivation answer early. It appears in the HR round in almost every report, and how to answer why Udaan gives the structure.
- Practice class design under a timer. Grokking the Object Oriented Design Interview covers the problems this loop reuses.
- Keep one strong project ready. Grokking Modern Behavioral Interview shows how to tell it with evidence.
