What Is the Qualcomm Interview Process Like? (Round by Round)

The Qualcomm software engineering process usually has four to six rounds. Candidates report a recruiter screen, an online assessment on HackerRank, a technical screen, and a final loop of three to four interviews. A loop is a set of back-to-back interview rounds with different engineers. The whole process takes about three to eight weeks. The exact shape changes by team, by country, and by seniority.

Round 1: Recruiter Screen

Round 2: Online Assessment

The assessment runs on HackerRank and takes about 90 minutes. Candidates report a mix of two parts. One part is multiple choice on C, C++, operating systems, and computer architecture. The other part is two to three coding problems, usually easy to medium. Practice pointer questions and bit manipulation, because Qualcomm tests them often. Bit manipulation means changing individual bits inside a number.

Round 3: Technical Screen

Before the full loop, many teams run a 30 to 45 minute call. Often the hiring manager runs it. Expect questions about your resume projects. Also expect short questions on C, memory, and operating system basics. This call decides whether the team spends a full day on you. Treat it as a real interview. Round 4: The Interview Loop

The loop has three to four rounds of 45 to 60 minutes each. The content depends on the team, but candidates report four common themes.

  • Coding. Data structures and algorithms in C or C++. Linked lists, strings, and arrays appear often.

What Makes Qualcomm Different

Two things surprise candidates who come from web companies. First, the fundamentals go deep. Interviewers ask what happens in memory when your code runs. They ask how an interrupt reaches your handler. Second, C matters more than frameworks. Many teams still write and review plain C daily. A candidate fluent in Python but rusty in C struggles here. Plan your practice time around these two facts.

Timeline and Decision

Candidates report three to seven business days of waiting after the screen. The full process takes three to eight weeks from application to offer. If you have another offer, tell the recruiter. Deadlines often speed the process up.

After the loop, the interviewers submit feedback and the hiring manager decides. Some regions add a separate HR call to close salary and start date.
