1. The Question Behind the Question

"Should we use microservices" is asked as a technology question and is almost never one. Underneath it are three questions that actually have answers.

• Can teams ship without coordinating with each other?
• Do parts of this system need to scale or be isolated differently?
• Do we know where the boundaries are?

Those are questions about your organization and about facts you can check, and none of them is settled by a preference about architecture. An answer that starts from the technology has skipped the part that decides it.
