1. Two Problems That Share a Name

Multi-tenancy creates two distinct problems and they get discussed as one.

  • Noisy neighbors. One tenant consumes capacity that the others needed. An availability and fairness problem, and the one teams notice first because it generates complaints.
  • Cross-tenant data exposure. One tenant sees another's data. A correctness and security problem, and the one that ends companies.

They are worth separating because the second has no acceptable rate. A noisy neighbor incident is a bad day
