Font size, weight, and style
Browsers draw ordinary paragraph text at 16px and a top-level heading at 32px until a style sheet says otherwise. Three properties change how that text looks: font-size sets how large the characters are, font-weight sets how thick their strokes are, and font-style switches between upright and slanted letters. Together they create a visual hierarchy, which means the reader can tell at once which text is the title, which is a note, and which is the body.
