Delete an Element From the Map

In Go, elements in a map can be removed using the delete() function. This is useful when data is no longer needed or when maintaining an updated dataset.

When a key is deleted:

  • The key and its associated value are removed from the map.
  • The length of the map (len) goes down by one for each deleted key.
  • Accessing a deleted key returns the zero value for the type.

Deleting an Element from a Map

Go provides the built-in delete() function to remove elements from a map.
