Arrays and Pointers
In Go, pointers and arrays work together to provide efficient memory access. A pointer to an array (type *[size]dataType) lets you access and modify every element of the original array without copying it. Go has no pointer arithmetic, so a pointer to one element cannot be moved to the next element; you index through an array pointer instead.
Why Use Pointers with Arrays?
- Efficient Memory Access: Instead of copying an array, we can use a pointer to reference it.
- Modify Array Elements: A pointer allows modifying an array's elements directly.
