Text, Number and Date Controls

A single element, <input>, has 22 different types. Which control the browser draws depends on one attribute, type: the same tag becomes a text box, a checkbox, a date picker, a slider or a file chooser.

The photo club's form from the previous lesson has two text boxes. A real sign-up form needs more. This lesson adds the controls that hold what a visitor types: a password and other text boxes, a box for several lines of text, a date, a number and a slider. The controls for choices, files and buttons have a lesson of their own, which comes next and assembles the whole form.
