Introduction to BFF

The Backends for Frontends (BFF) pattern was named and written up by Sam Newman. He described what teams at SoundCloud had already built: a separate backend for each of their clients. The pattern answers one problem. Different clients, such as phones, browsers and televisions, need different data from the same system. In this pattern, each type of client gets its own backend service.
