1. Health Checks: The Platform's Senses

Everything self-healing in the platform rests on one question. What does "healthy" mean? A health check, also called a probe, is a small endpoint the platform calls on a schedule to find out.

The platform asks two questions that sound alike and are not:

  • Liveness: "should this instance be restarted?" A failing liveness probe means the process is beyond recovery
