Introduction: The Product Architecture Round

An interviewer points to a familiar application screen and says:

"Design the API behind this."

You identify the caller, name the resources, list the operations, and begin one complete contract. Then the interviewer asks two questions that did not appear in the earlier rounds:

"What data model sits behind those operations?"

"How many calls does this screen make when it opens?"

The interviewer is asking how the API supports the product and its client. The six-step method still provides a useful structure.
