Introduction: The Product Architecture Round

An interviewer points to a familiar application screen and says:

"Design the API behind this."

You identify the caller, name the resources, list the operations, and begin one complete contract. Then the interviewer asks two questions that did not appear in the earlier rounds:

"What data model sits behind those operations?"

"How many calls does this screen make when it opens?"

The round has not changed subject. It is still an API design interview, and the six steps still control the answer.
