Mobile Nonfunctional Requirements

“Fast, reliable, and secure” describes useful goals, but does not provide enough detail to design or test an app.

A nonfunctional requirement describes a quality or operating condition. It explains how well a feature must work, under which circumstances, and what happens when a target is not met.

For a feed, the priority may be quick access to downloaded content. For chat, it may be preserving a message after the app confirms that it is saved on the device. For a pickup map, it may be showing how old the driver's location is.
