• Strangler fig pattern: A migration approach where a new service takes over one slice of a monolith at a time until the old code is deleted.
• Feature flag: A runtime switch that turns a code path on or off for some users without a new deployment.
• Read replica: A copy of the database that streams every change from the primary and answers read queries.
