Connect MongoDB with Node.js

A Node.js program cannot talk to a MongoDB server without help. It needs a library that opens a network connection to the server, sends commands in the format the server expects, and turns each reply into a JavaScript object. That library is called a driver, and MongoDB publishes an official one for Node.js as the npm package mongodb.
