Introduction to CRUD Operations
Almost every program that stores data does four things with it: it adds new records, reads them back, changes them, and removes them. These four actions have a short name, CRUD, which stands for Create, Read, Update and Delete. Together they cover the whole life of a piece of data, from the moment it arrives until the moment it is no longer needed.
In MongoDB, each action is a small family of methods that you call on a collection.
| Action | What it does | Methods |
|---|---|---|
| Create | Adds new documents to a collection | insertOne(), insertMany() |
