Replica Set Deployment

Before any replica set command runs, three things must be true: MongoDB is installed on every machine, every machine can reach the others by name, and every mongod has an existing data folder. Three processes on one laptop are useful for learning the commands. They do not protect the data from a machine failure, however, because one power failure stops all of them. So this lesson deploys the set rs0 on three separate machines.

Step 1: Prepare the Machines

Install MongoDB on each machine from the official MongoDB website, following the instructions for your operating system
