Getting Started with React Native Paper

Google publishes a set of rules for how buttons, cards and text fields should look and behave, and it calls this system Material Design. React Native Paper is a component library that follows those rules, so a Button from Paper already has the correct shape, colors, pressed state and disabled state.

This lesson builds the course card with Paper, one piece at a time: the button, a name field, the card itself, and finally a brand theme.

Installing Paper and Its Icons

Install Paper together with the safe area package it requires and an icon set:

npm install react-native-paper
