Flashcards Review
Use these flashcards to review the key ideas from this chapter before you take the assessment. Each card shows a term or question on the front and a short answer on the back. Try to answer first, then flip to check. The deck covers what a checksum is, how hash functions compute it, the four verification steps, what checksums cannot do, their everyday uses across networks, disks, replicas, and downloads, and where a checksum is the wrong tool.

The answer for the last flashcard says that one of the use cases of checksum is storing passwords which is contradicting what was mentioned in the chapter. This course needs to be thoroughly reviewed.
