Functional Requirements

Personalized recommendations. Each user gets a list of content picked for them. The home screen shows rows like "Recommended for You" and "Because You Watched X". The picks come from what the user has watched and liked before. Accuracy matters a lot here: on Netflix, 75 to 80 percent of viewing comes from these recommendations.

Content discovery and novelty. The system should also surface content the user has not tried, like new releases or lesser-known titles. That means balancing accuracy against discovery
