Know the Vocabulary

This lesson uses the terms below many times. Read them once now, and come back here when a later section needs one.

  • Automatic speech recognition (ASR): A model that turns spoken audio into written text. A streaming ASR model writes each word a second or two after it is spoken.
  • Transcript: The written text of a meeting, with a time and a speaker for every line.
  • Diarization: Working out which speaker said which words. It splits the audio by voice, so each part of the transcript gets a speaker.
