I disagree on all systems that are reliable are available. For example the stock market is considered reliable but not very available since it doesn't operate at all hours. This is because something that does what it's expected to do is reliable even if it's not available. If it's not expected to be available 24/7 it can still be considered reliable since it hasn't failed to meet the expectations set.
I propose to redefine reliability as how much a system meets expectations.

Dont you think availability means remaining up when expected? Other systems are expected to be available 24X7. Stock market can be termed unavailable if it is not available during its expected working hours. But if it remains available during its official working hours ...

In reality, availability is defined as the percentage of uptime under SLA, if the SLA is not 24/7, we don't label a system not meeting availability standard because it doesn't operate during off hours.

Availability is being available when needed. Some software runs 24/7, some doesn't.
