Most system design material hands you a finished diagram. That is not the hard part.

The hard part is the blank page. An interviewer says "Design YouTube" and starts a 45 minute clock. There is no correct answer waiting to be recalled. There is only a process that takes you from a vague sentence to a system you can defend.

Every one of the 30 problems in this course is worked through the same 14 steps. This lesson explains what those steps are, why they are in that order, and how to run them when a clock is ticking.
