1. The Incident

This lesson addresses four incidents introduced earlier in the course.

  • The CQRS lesson's application wrote separately to the database and search index. When Elasticsearch calls timed out during deployment, orders existed in the database but were absent from search.
  • The cache-aside lesson's bulk import wrote directly to the database without invalidating cached entries. Products consequently remained stale for an hour.
