How Long Does It Take to Hear Back After a Block Interview?

Silence usually means scheduling, not a decision. Block loops run inside one product team. Interviewers are working engineers on that team, so notes can take a few days.

One thing about the pair programming format is easy to misread. A friendly, collaborative session feels like a pass. The interviewer works with you by design, so a good conversation is not a result.
How to Follow Up
Wait about one week after the onsite ends. Then send one short email to your recruiter.
Hi [name], thank you for the time on Wednesday. I enjoyed the pair programming session on the transactions problem. Could you tell me where my application stands, and when I should expect the next update? Please tell me if you need anything else from me.
Send it once. Wait another week before a second note. Check your junk folder before you write again.
Can You Reapply, and How Soon?
Block publishes no waiting period. No public reapply policy was found for engineering roles.
Most advice for a company this size says about six months. That is typical for companies of this size, not confirmed.
The product split gives you a real second option. A Square role and a Cash App role are different loops with different interviewers. Afterpay is a third.
Ask your recruiter which team decided against you. Then apply to a different one.
Train the skill that ended your loop. If the practical coding screen stopped you, practice writing tested code under time.
What to Wear
Most of these rounds happen on video. Candidates report a virtual loop with a shared coding editor. Business casual is more than enough.
One solid color, with no logo, is the easy choice. A tie is not expected here. Thin stripes and small checks look strange on camera.
Test your camera, microphone, and the shared editor before the day. Pair programming needs a stable connection, so use a wired network if you have one. Sit in a quiet room with light in front of you.
If your loop includes an office visit, wear the same thing. Bring photo identification and arrive a few minutes early.
