How Long Does It Take to Hear Back After a Facebook Interview?

Meta says the typical interview process takes about two to three months. Facebook is part of Meta, so Facebook roles are hired through Meta. Meta also states that you will hear back from the recruiter, offer or no offer.

Meta publishes no wait time for a single round. It says only that many factors go into a hiring decision, and that an exact estimate is hard to give. The wait times below are the typical pattern for companies of this size, not confirmed.

Timeline by Stage

Meta names three parts in public: a recruiter conversation, an initial screening, and a full loop interview.

StageTypical waitWhat is happening
Application to recruiter replyOne to two weeksA recruiter checks your resume against the role
Recruiter conversation to screeningAbout one weekScheduling around you and the interviewer
Initial screening to resultAbout one weekThe interviewer writes up your code and your reasoning
Full loop to resultOne to two weeksWritten feedback is collected and reviewed
Result to team matchTwo weeks or moreYou meet managers who have open roles
Team match to offerA few daysThe recruiter prepares the offer details

Meta states that initial interviews are on the phone or on video. Technical rounds use CoderPad, which is a shared editor both people can type in.

Meta says select roles now include an authorized AI assistant inside CoderPad. It names Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Meta's own models. Ask your recruiter whether your round includes that tool.

Public write-ups of the loop describe a 45 minute technical phone screen. The same write-ups describe coding, design, and behavioral rounds in the full loop.

Does Facebook Send Rejection Emails?

Meta states that every candidate hears back. Its hiring page says you will hear from the recruiter about the status of your application, whether or not you receive an offer. Few companies write that down.

Meta names holidays as a reason the timeline changes. It says other factors change it too, without naming them.

Detailed feedback is not promised. Meta does not offer a score for each round. Expect the decision and little more.

Meta also gives you a career profile. You can send a personalized message to each interviewer through it after you meet them. Meta says the same profile holds your onboarding checklist once you accept an offer.

How to Follow Up

Wait about one week after a round. Write to your recruiter, not to the interviewers. Meta also asks candidates to name any competing offer or deadline, so include yours.

Hi [name], thank you for arranging the rounds last week. I enjoyed the design question about a news feed ranking service. Could you tell me the status and the next step? I have another offer with a deadline on the 20th, so timing would help me.

Send that once. Wait another week before a second note. After two notes with no reply, treat the role as closed and keep applying elsewhere.

Can You Reapply, and How Soon?

Meta does not publish a reapply rule on its hiring page. No public source gives a fixed waiting period. Waiting about six months is the usual advice for a company of this size.

Public write-ups do report one useful rule. If you pass the loop but do not take the offer, that result can stand for about one year.

Ask your recruiter about it, because some candidates are then allowed to skip rounds they already passed. A new team or a new role level also helps a second attempt.

What to Wear

Interviews are on the phone or on video, as Meta states. Wear one solid color, and avoid thin stripes and shiny fabric. Cameras render both of those badly.

Test your camera, microphone, and light before the call. Open CoderPad in the browser you will use, since the technical round runs there.

Meta does not publish a dress code for candidates. Clean, plain clothes are enough for an office visit too. Bring photo identification for the front desk, and arrive about ten minutes early.
