How Long Does It Take to Hear Back After a Notion Interview?

Notion usually replies within one to two weeks per stage. Glassdoor reports an average near 27 days from first contact to decision. Candidates report four to six rounds over two to five weeks.

The recruiter call gets an answer within a few days. The technical screen result takes about one week. The onsite decision takes one to two weeks, because several interviewers write feedback first.

Product roles are slower. Glassdoor reports an average near 35 days for product manager roles.

Timeline by Stage

StageTypical waitWhat is happening
Application to recruiter reply1 to 2 weeksResume screen, or a sourcer writes to you first
Recruiter call, about 30 minutes2 to 5 daysThe recruiter writes notes and books the screen
Technical phone screen, 45 to 60 minutesAbout 1 weekThe engineer who met you writes a scorecard
Take-home project, when usedAbout 5 days to submit, then 1 weekEngineers read and score your submission
Onsite loop, four or more rounds1 to 2 weeksEach interviewer files feedback, then a debrief follows
Offer call2 to 5 daysThe recruiter prepares the package

Two parts of the Notion loop make the wait longer. The take-home is one. Candidates report about five days to submit it and four to eight hours of work.

Reports describe building a simplified block editor with React and TypeScript. The onsite is the other. It includes practical coding rather than puzzle problems.

It also includes a design round on real time collaborative editing, a values round, and a conversation with a company leader. Candidates also report a round where you use AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor. Booking time with a company leader inside one week is the usual reason a decision takes longer.

Does Notion Send Rejection Emails?

Reports are mixed, and that is the honest answer. Many candidates praise the recruiting team for clear updates. They report knowing the next step at every stage.

Others report about two weeks of silence, then a fast rejection. Candidates also report loops that end early, with the later rounds cancelled after the first two. That is rare, but Notion can end a loop before every round is done.

Candidates report that Notion does not give detailed feedback. Ask your recruiter which round was the weakest. Some name a general area, such as product thinking or code quality.

How to Follow Up

Wait five business days after a round. Then send one short email to your recruiter.

Hi [Name], thank you for the [round name] on [date]. I am writing to ask for an update on my application. The [team] work is the reason I applied, and I remain very interested. Please tell me if you need anything more from me.

Send a second email one week later if nothing arrives. Two emails are enough. After that, keep interviewing elsewhere while you wait.

Can You Reapply, and How Soon?

Notion does not publish a reapply rule. Three to six months is the sensible wait after an onsite rejection. This is typical for companies of this size, not confirmed.

You can apply to a different team sooner if the first rejection came at the resume stage. The values round and the leader conversation matter for a second attempt.

You will likely get the same result unless your product stories change. Use the months to ship something with real users, then say what you learned from them.

What to Wear

Most Notion interviews are on video. Wear a plain shirt in one solid color. Keep the background simple and the room quiet.

Test the link and your microphone the day before, since coding rounds use a shared editor.

For a round in an office, wear clean casual clothes. Notion is a product company with a casual dress code. A suit is not expected.
