How Long Does It Take to Hear Back After a Cerebras Interview?

Most Cerebras candidates report three to six weeks from application to decision. Cerebras does not publish its timing, and per stage reports are few.

The average reported process is near one month. Candidates report a decision within a few weeks of the final loop.

Loop size changes your wait more than anything else. One candidate reported six remote 45 minute interviews, five of them technical, and four more sessions after that.

Timeline by Stage

Some waits below come from candidate reports. The rest are what is typical for companies of this size, not confirmed.

StageTypical waitWhat is happening
Application to recruiter replyOne to two weeksResume review inside one hiring team
Recruiter screen to technical screenAbout one weekBooking a 45 minute coding session
Technical screen to resultThree to five business daysThe interviewer writes up two coding problems
Between loop sessionsDays, sometimes one blockSeveral 45 minute sessions to schedule
Final session to decisionOne to two weeksNotes are collected across the interviewers

Cerebras publishes an interviewing guide of its own. It says coding rounds use HackerRank over a video call, and that no whiteboard is needed. HackerRank is an online code editor you share with the interviewer.

The technical screens are short. Candidates report two medium difficulty problems in about 45 minutes, often in C++ or Python.

One more thing sets your timeline. Cerebras hires across chip design, compilers, machine learning software, and cloud infrastructure. Each layer runs a different loop, so ask the recruiter which one you are in.

Does Cerebras Send Rejection Emails?

Cerebras does not publish what it sends after a rejection. Its interviewing guide describes the coding rounds, and candidate reports about rejection emails are few.

Candidates who reach a live round work with one recruiter. That person schedules the sessions and gives you the result.

An application with no interview often gets no reply. That is normal at a company of this size, and it says nothing about your work.

Feedback is usually general. The coding screens are scored on correctness and pace, and recruiters seldom share those notes. Ask once, then use the answer you get.

How to Follow Up

Give the technical screen five business days. Give the final loop seven. One short email to the recruiter is enough.

Hi [name], thank you for the time last week. I enjoyed the coding session and the discussion about performance work. Could you tell me where my application stands and when the team expects to decide? I am glad to wait if the loop needs more sessions.

Send it once. Send one more a week later if nothing comes back. Then treat the role as closed.

Can You Reapply, and How Soon?

No reapply rule appears on the Cerebras site or in candidate reports. About six months is the usual advice for a company this size.

A second attempt is stronger with two changes. First, raise your speed on medium problems, because the screens are short and timed. Second, deepen one systems area, such as memory, concurrency, or compilers.

Concurrency means many operations running at the same time. A different layer of the company is also a fair second try, since each one hires separately.

What to Wear

The coding rounds are on video, which the company states itself. Its guide names HackerRank over a video call, so dress for a camera.

A plain shirt in a solid color is enough. Thin stripes blur on a webcam, so avoid them.

Test your editor, camera, and microphone before the session. A broken setup takes minutes out of a 45 minute round.

Some candidates report onsite sessions as well. Clean, casual clothes fit that visit, and no suit is expected. Ask your recruiter which of your rounds are in person.
