How Long Does It Take to Hear Back After an Anduril Interview?
Anduril often replies within a day between rounds, and takes longer after the final loop. Candidates report feedback the next day between early rounds. After the final loop, most reports describe five to ten business days.
Glassdoor puts software engineer hiring at an average of about 28 days from application to hire. Three to four weeks end to end is the common report.
Two things make the final wait longer. A role tied to a specific defense program needs extra routing. A role can also wait on approved headcount.
Neither delay means rejection.
Timeline by Stage
| Stage | Typical wait | What is happening |
|---|---|---|
| After you apply | Days to about two weeks | Recruiters source directly, so applications queue |
| After the recruiter screen | Often the next day | The recruiter checks mission fit and work authorization |
| After the technical phone screen | Often the next day | The interviewer writes up feedback, the recruiter books the loop |
| After the final loop | Five to ten business days | Debrief, hiring manager sign off, headcount check |
| Verbal offer to written offer | A few days | Compensation approval and paperwork |
One requirement comes before all of this. Anduril job postings state that you must be a US person, because the work uses United States export controlled information.
Postings add that clearance eligibility may be required, depending on the program. Recruiters check this in the first call, so answer it plainly.
If ten business days pass after the loop with no word, ask one direct question. Ask whether the headcount for the role is approved. That answer tells you more than a general status question.
Does Anduril Send Rejection Emails?
Often yes, but candidates also report silence. Threads on Blind and Reddit describe candidates hearing nothing after a phone screen or a panel. Some report follow up emails that were never answered.
Others report a clear rejection within days. Detailed feedback is rare, and Anduril does not publish a feedback policy.
Ask your recruiter once, in the same message where you thank them. Expect a short answer or none.
Replies are uneven rather than unfriendly. Applications run through Greenhouse, and roles belong to many different product teams. A team busy with a program deadline replies slowly.
How to Follow Up
Wait five business days after the final loop. That is inside the reported window, so a note then is not early.
Subject: [role] final round follow up Hi [name], thank you for arranging the final round on [day]. The conversation about [product or problem] made me more interested in the team. Could you share where the decision stands, and whether the headcount for this role is approved? I am glad to send anything else that helps.
Send one more note a week later if nothing arrives. Asking about headcount is normal here, and recruiters do answer it.
Can You Reapply, and How Soon?
Anduril does not publish a reapply rule. Candidates report recruiters saying that different divisions do not apply a cool off period to each other. So a rejection from one product team does not always block another.
That is a candidate report, not a published policy. Confirm it with your recruiter before you apply again.
After a final round rejection, six to twelve months is typical for a company of this size, and that is not confirmed by Anduril. A screen rejection has no real wait. If your rejection followed the coding round, use that time for daily practice.
What to Wear
Most interviews run on video, and the largest office is in Costa Mesa. Anduril also hires into other sites, including Seattle, Atlanta, and Fort Collins. Your recruiter will name the location for an onsite.
For video, wear a plain shirt in a solid color. Keep the background clean and the light in front of you.
For an office visit, business casual fits. The culture is engineering first, so nobody there will be wearing a suit.
Carry a photo ID. Site access at a defense company can take longer than a normal office check in, so arrive early.
How to Prepare
- Read the whole loop first. What the Anduril interview process is like covers every session and the reported timing between them.
- Practice coding under time pressure. Grokking the Coding Interview teaches the common question types as patterns, which is faster than random practice.
- Practice unclear questions. Anduril grades how you turn a vague question into clear requirements, so rehearse your first five minutes.
- Prepare the mission answer properly. How to answer why Anduril and top Anduril behavioral interview questions cover the questions you will get more than once.
- Design for hard conditions. Grokking the System Design Interview gives the method, and the Anduril system design interview lists the problems that come up.
