What Is the Wipro Elite NTH Test Pattern?

The Elite National Talent Hunt is Wipro's online hiring test for freshers, and the reported pattern runs about 128 minutes in three sections. The name is written as Elite NTH and also as Elite NLTH. Reports describe an aptitude section of about 48 minutes, a written communication essay of about 20 minutes, and an online programming section of about 60 minutes with two problems.

The test is taken online under proctoring, and AMCAT is the reported delivery platform. These patterns are revised between hiring cycles, so confirm the section list and timings in the official notification for your own drive.

Quick Overview

SectionQuestions and timeWhat it tests
AptitudeReported as about 48 minutes in totalQuantitative, logical, and verbal ability
Written communicationOne essay, about 20 minutesWritten English, structure, and grammar
Online programmingTwo problems, about 60 minutesBasic coding in C, C++, Java, or Python

Section 1: Aptitude

Reports split this section into quantitative ability, logical ability, and verbal ability, with a separate timer for each part. Quantitative topics reported include percentages, ratios, time and work, speed and distance, profit and loss, and permutations. Logical topics reported include coding and decoding, blood relations, directions, series, and simple puzzles.

Verbal topics reported include synonyms and antonyms, sentence arrangement, error spotting, and reading comprehension. Candidates report very little spare time in this section, so accuracy under time pressure decides the score.

Section 2: Written Communication

This section gives one essay topic and a short writing window. Reports describe general topics rather than technical ones. Reported word targets differ between sources, so follow the length stated on your own screen.

The grading is automated and checks grammar, spelling, sentence structure, and whether you stayed on the topic. Some reports also describe a penalty once you pass about five spelling or grammar errors. Write a short introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, then spend the last two minutes checking spelling.

Section 3: Online Programming

Reports describe two programs, with C, C++, Java, and Python as the reported language options. The reported problems stay at the level of basic data structures and mathematics. Examples candidates report include prime number checks, factorials, palindromes, reversing a string, removing vowels, printing distinct elements of an array, sorting parts of an array in different orders, and Fibonacci series.

Your output must match the expected output exactly, because the grading is by test cases. If this is your first timed coding screen, read what an online technical assessment is before your slot.

Eligibility

Wipro publishes eligibility rules in the notification for each drive, and the commonly published rules are these. Candidates need a minimum of 60 percent, or the equivalent grade, in class ten, in class twelve, and in graduation. Each of the three is checked on its own, so a strong degree score cannot compensate for a weak school score.

The eligible degrees are full time programs recognized in India, and reports describe limits on both active backlogs and education gaps. All backlogs must be cleared before joining, and documents are verified at the offer stage. Treat the notification for your drive as the rule that applies to you, because these rules are restated for every cycle.

How the Test Is Scored and What Happens Next

Reports describe a separate cutoff for each section, so a weak section can end the process even if another section is strong. Reports also describe forward-only navigation, which means you cannot return to a section after you submit it. Sources disagree about negative marking, because some describe none and others describe a penalty in the written English section, so confirm the rule in your own notification.

Candidates commonly report a selection or rejection mail within two to three days of the test. Those who clear it report a business discussion round, described in the Wipro interview process.

Elite NTH is not Wipro's only hiring test. Turbo is a separate program for selected institutes, and the Work Integrated Learning Programme is a separate route for science and computer application graduates. Each has its own eligibility rules and its own test, so use the rules attached to the invitation you received.

How to Prepare

  • Give the coding section the most time. It is where most candidates lose marks, and the patterns behind these problems are taught in Grokking the Coding Interview.
  • Practice aptitude with a timer. Set the reported time per part and stop when it ends, because speed is the real test.
  • Write two practice essays. Use a general topic, keep to the reported time, and check your own grammar afterward.
  • Learn the exact output format. Grading compares your output with the expected output, so extra spaces or missing new lines cost marks.
  • Prepare the next round early. The interview questions and the motivation answer are covered in how to answer why Wipro, and the waits are covered in how long it takes to hear back.
