What Is the Wipro Interview Process Like? (Round by Round)
Candidates report a three to four stage process at Wipro. Freshers usually start with the Elite National Talent Hunt online test, written as Elite NTH or NLTH. Candidates who clear it report a business discussion round, which is Wipro's own name for the technical interview.
Some reports describe a separate spoken English assessment before that round. Some describe a separate HR round after it, while others describe one combined discussion that covers both technical and HR questions. Reported waits between stages range from a few days to more than a month.
Quick Overview
| Stage | Format | What is evaluated |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Online assessment (Elite NTH) | About 128 minutes, proctored, online | Aptitude, written English, two coding problems |
| 2. Communication assessment | Reported by some candidates, online | Listening, reading, and spoken English |
| 3. Business discussion round | Video call or in person | Projects, OOP, DBMS and SQL, OS basics, a short program |
| 4. HR round | Call or video, sometimes merged with stage 3 | Motivation, relocation, service agreement, joining date |
Stage 1: The Online Assessment
Reports describe a test of about 128 minutes in three parts. The first part is aptitude, the second is an essay, and the third is coding with two problems. Candidates report a proctored secure browser, with AMCAT named as the delivery platform and Superset used for registration and scheduling.
The section by section breakdown is in the Wipro Elite NTH test pattern. If this is your first proctored screen, read what an online technical assessment is before your slot.
Stage 2: The Communication Assessment
Some candidates report a separate round for English listening, reading, and speaking. It is graded on clarity and fluency rather than on technical content. Wipro places engineers on client delivery teams, so spoken English matters for the role. Not every candidate reports this round, so treat it as likely rather than certain.
Stage 3: The Business Discussion Round
This is the technical interview, and candidates report a conversational format. Reported topics include object oriented programming, exception handling, SQL joins and grouping, database basics, and operating system topics such as paging and deadlocks. Data structure questions stay at the level of arrays, strings, and linked lists.
Interviewers also ask about the projects listed on your resume, so know every line of it. Candidates report short coding tasks, such as a program that prints the prime numbers in a range.
Candidates do not report a machine coding round at Wipro. A machine coding round is a session of 90 to 120 minutes where you build a small working program and are graded on the code that runs. Product companies use it, and the Wipro reports do not describe it. Experienced candidates instead report one or two technical rounds on their own stack, their current project, and their delivery experience.
Stage 4: The HR Round
Reported questions include the self introduction, strengths and weaknesses, career goals, and willingness to relocate. Candidates also report questions about signing the service agreement and about the earliest joining date. The motivation question appears here, and it has its own structure in how to answer why Wipro.
How the Campus Path Differs
On-campus candidates report a compressed schedule, with interviews and results on the same day at the drive venue. Off-campus candidates report longer gaps between every stage. Wipro also runs other hiring programs with their own tests, including Turbo for selected institutes and the Work Integrated Learning Programme for science and computer application graduates. Check which program your invitation names, because the test and the outcome differ.
Timeline and Decision
Candidates commonly report a selection or rejection mail within two to three days of the online test. After that, reports vary. Some candidates report about a month between clearing the test and receiving the interview invitation.
Others describe a full process that runs for several months, mostly because of scheduling gaps rather than extra rounds. The reported waits by stage are collected in how long it takes to hear back after a Wipro interview.
Questions to Ask Them
Every round ends with time for your questions, and specific questions score better than general ones. Ask which business unit and technology the role belongs to. Ask what the training program covers and how project allocation works after training.
Ask about the work location, shift expectations, and what the service agreement requires. These questions are practical, and the interviewer can answer all of them.
How to Prepare
- Clear the test first. The coding section removes most candidates, so drill array, string, and basic math problems in Grokking the Coding Interview.
- Revise the four subjects. Object oriented programming, database concepts with SQL, operating systems, and basic data structures cover almost every reported technical question.
- Rehearse your projects. Prepare two minutes on each project, including your own part, the technology you chose, and one problem you solved.
- Prepare the motivation answer separately. The HR round rewards a specific reason, built with the structure in how to answer why Wipro.
- Practice speaking in English aloud. The communication assessment and the business discussion both grade clarity, so record yourself and listen once.
