CrowdStrike Mission Statement and Core Values
CrowdStrike states its mission in three words: "We stop breaches". The phrase appears on its home page, on its careers pages, and in nearly every product announcement. The company says the mission has not changed since it was founded. A breach is an incident in which an attacker gains access to a customer's systems or data. The mission therefore names the outcome the company is paid to prevent.
The company's values are published as one sentence rather than a numbered list. Both are quoted below. Each value gets a plain explanation, and a later section shows how to use them in an interview.
CrowdStrike mission statement
"We stop breaches" is the short form, and it is the one to quote. The company's about page expands it. CrowdStrike secures endpoints, cloud workloads, identity, and data in order to keep customers ahead of adversaries and stop breaches. Everything else in the company's public material is presented as serving that one sentence, from the product line to the hiring pages.
CrowdStrike core values
CrowdStrike's careers page states its values as one sentence. It reads: "We are Fanatical About the Customer, Relentlessly Focused on Innovation and believe that our Limitless Passion drives Unlimited Potential for every CrowdStriker". The company also uses the mantra "One Team. One Fight." for how its employees work together. That values sentence contains three values, and each has a plain meaning.
Fanatical about the customer. The customer here is the security team that relies on the product during an active attack. A support call during an incident is treated as the most important work of the day. Product decisions are judged by whether they help that team respond faster.
Relentlessly focused on innovation. Attackers change their methods constantly, so a detection method that worked last quarter may miss this quarter's attacks. The value commits the company to change its product at the same pace. In practice that means frequent releases and heavy investment in threat research.
Limitless passion drives unlimited potential. This is the value aimed at employees. It states that a person who cares about the mission will be given opportunities to advance. CrowdStrike describes its culture as one built on autonomy, flexibility, and trust. Candidates should read the value as an expectation: the company hires people who want to stop breaches, not people who want a security job.
Some third-party sites publish other lists of CrowdStrike values with five or more items. Those lists do not appear on crowdstrike.com, so quote the sentence above rather than one of them.
Company context in brief
CrowdStrike was founded to deliver endpoint protection from the cloud. At the time, most security software was installed and updated on each machine separately. An endpoint is any device that connects to a network, such as a laptop or a server. Endpoint protection is the software that watches that device for attacks. The Falcon platform is the product built on that idea. A single lightweight agent on each endpoint sends telemetry to the cloud, and detection runs there across all customers at once.
Two other facts matter for an interview. Falcon OverWatch is the company's managed threat-hunting service. In it, CrowdStrike analysts search customer telemetry for attacks that automated detection missed. The company also publishes threat intelligence reports that name attacker groups, which is why its researchers are often quoted after major incidents. How to use the mission in the interview
Every CrowdStrike behavioral interview includes some form of "why CrowdStrike". The mission is the strongest material for that answer. The rule is to quote it once, then connect it to something you did. A candidate who says "I want to work at a leader in cybersecurity" has said nothing specific. Compare this opening: "Your mission is to stop breaches, and it matters to me because I spent two weeks last year recovering a system I maintained from ransomware". That candidate has given the interviewer a story to ask about.
Use one value the same way. If you choose "fanatical about the customer", follow it with one concrete example. A time you kept working on a problem after the customer had stopped asking is the right kind. The full answer structure, with sample responses, is in Why are you interested in working for CrowdStrike interview questions?.
How to Prepare
- Memorize the three words and the values sentence. Quoting them accurately, without reading, shows that you did the research.
- Prepare one story per value. Each story should have a situation, the action you took, and a measurable result, told in under two minutes.
- Read the behavioral format first. How to prepare for Crowdstrike behavioral interview? describes the questions that follow "why CrowdStrike".
- Practice with a structured method. Grokking the Behavioral Interview teaches how to build and deliver those stories.
- Know the difficulty of the full loop. How hard is a CrowdStrike interview? sets expectations for the technical rounds that follow.
