How Long Does It Take to Hear Back After a Klarna Interview?

Klarna does not publish wait times, and per stage reports are scarce. Candidates report a planned process of about six to eight weeks. Many report that it takes longer than planned.

The common complaints are slow scheduling and a recruiter change in the middle. Experiences also differ by country and by team, because Klarna hires across many locations.

So plan for a long process and keep other applications active. The waits in the table are the typical pattern for companies of this size, not confirmed.

Timeline by Stage

Klarna's loop has five to seven rounds. Candidates report a recruiter call, a coding screen of about 60 minutes, and then a virtual onsite. The onsite usually includes two coding rounds, a system design round, a craft deep dive, and a behavioral round on Klarna's eight leadership principles.

StageTypical waitWhat is happening
Application to recruiter replyOne to three weeksA recruiter checks your resume against the role
Recruiter call to coding screenOne to two weeksScheduling, which is the reported slow point
Coding screen to resultThree business days to two weeksThe result is reviewed before the onsite is booked
Between onsite roundsSame day, or spread over two weeksSome loops run as one block, others do not
Onsite to decisionOne to three weeksInterviewers compare notes across rounds
Decision to offer detailsA few days to one weekTeam, level, and location details are settled

Some candidates also report a separate logic and reasoning test. Others report a conversation about how they use AI tools in daily engineering work. Both add days, so ask your recruiter which rounds your loop includes.

Does Klarna Send Rejection Emails?

Klarna does not publish a rejection policy. Candidates report an email after interview rounds and no reply at all after many applications.

A quiet week does not always mean a rejection here. Slow scheduling is reported often enough that silence is weak evidence either way.

Keep your own records. Write down every interviewer name, every date, and the next step agreed at the end of each round. If your recruiter changes, that list is what you use to restart the conversation.

Feedback is not promised. Expect a decision without a score for each round.

How to Follow Up

Send one polite message per week while you wait. Start about five business days after a round.

Hi [name], thank you for the time last week. I enjoyed the checkout design discussion. Could you share where my application stands and what the next step is? I am happy to provide anything else that helps.

If two weeks pass with no reply, send the same question to the last recruiter who wrote to you. Also check your junk folder before you assume silence.

Can You Reapply, and How Soon?

Klarna does not publish a waiting period. About six months is the common advice for companies of this size.

A different country or team can change the result, because loops differ by location. Use the time on the leadership principle stories. Candidates report that fit with those principles can outweigh a strong technical score.

What to Wear

Most Klarna interviews are on video. The recruiter call, the coding screen, and the onsite rounds all run remotely for most candidates.

Wear a plain shirt in one solid color. Avoid thin stripes on camera. Use a quiet room with good light.

Klarna's careers page asks candidates not to be anyone they are not. A suit is not expected.

For an office visit, neat everyday clothes work. Bring photo identification and arrive about ten minutes early.
