How Long Does It Take to Hear Back After a Reddit Interview?

Timeline by Stage

Reddit's loop is smaller than the loop at a large company, so scheduling is usually quick. Candidates report a phone screen on CoderPad, a shared coding tool.

Does Reddit Send Rejection Emails?

Reddit does send rejection emails, but candidates report a mixed record. Some report a clear message within a week. Others report no reply at all after a round, including no answer to two follow up emails.

One reported pattern is worth naming. Candidates report passing every round and then being told the role was filled or closed. That outcome is about the role, not about your answers.

Reddit does not give detailed interview feedback to outside candidates. A recruiter may give one short piece of direction if you ask politely, but do not expect it. Ask for the decision date before the last round ends.

How to Follow Up

Wait five business days after the onsite, and one week after an earlier round. Send one message, to the recruiter.

Hello [name], thank you for the time on [date]. I am still very interested in the role, and I enjoyed the questions in the [round name] round. Could you tell me the current status and when the team expects to decide? I am glad to send anything else that would help.

If a week passes with no reply, send one more short note. Reddit hires remote workers across the United States, so your recruiter may be in another time zone. Allow an extra day before you treat no reply as an answer.

Can You Reapply, and How Soon?

Reddit publishes no reapply rule. About six months for the same role is typical for companies of this size, not confirmed. A different role is usually open to you sooner, though candidates report automatic rejections when they reapply too quickly.

What to Wear

Reddit runs the whole loop on video. The phone screen is a shared coding session, and the onsite is four or five video rounds of about an hour each. There is no travel and no onsite day for most candidates.

Reddit is a casual company, so a collared shirt or a simple top is more than enough. A plain shirt in one solid color works well on camera. A suit is not needed.

Test your camera, your microphone, and the coding tool the day before. Sit with the light in front of you. For a rare in person meeting at a Reddit office, business casual is right.
