How Long Does It Take to Hear Back After a Walmart Global Tech Interview?

Walmart states one reply target, and candidates report the rest. Its careers site says Walmart tries to reply to applicants within a week of submission. The same page says the timing varies.

For the interview rounds themselves, Walmart publishes no wait time. Candidates report four to six weeks from the first call to a decision. Reported hiring averages for Global Tech roles sit near 29 to 37 days.

Timeline by Stage

One row below carries Walmart's own stated target. The rest are candidate reports and the typical pattern for companies of this size, not confirmed.

StageTypical waitWhat is happening
Application to first replyWithin about a week, Walmart's stated targetA recruiter reads your resume against the role
Recruiter screen to next stepA few days to a weekThe recruiter writes notes and checks team need
HackerRank assessment to resultA few days to two weeksYour scored attempt is reviewed by the team
Between technical roundsA few days eachScheduling across the coding and design rounds
Hiring manager round to decisionOne to two weeksInterviewers compare notes, then the level is set
Application to offer, end to endFour to six weeks reportedScheduling is the main variable

Count your wait against the right stage. Candidates report a recruiter screen, then a one hour HackerRank assessment. Python and SQL both appear in that assessment.

After that come coding and design rounds, then a hiring manager round. At senior levels the design part splits into low level design and high level design. The full round list is in What is the Walmart Global Tech interview process like?

Does Walmart Global Tech Send Rejection Emails?

Walmart says it tells you when you are not selected for an interview. That statement is on its own careers site. So a rejection at the application stage should reach you by email.

After the interviews, your recruiter gives the decision. Candidates report email and phone calls at that stage. Silence after a final round also happens, and the recruiter is the person to ask.

Feedback is not promised. Walmart publishes no round by round feedback for candidates. Expect a yes or a no without scores for each interview.

Walmart also runs a help line for application questions. It is open on weekdays, from 7am to 4pm US central time. The number is 1-800-955-7267.

How to Follow Up

Wait one full week after your last round. Then send one short email to your recruiter.

Hi [name], thank you for the time on Tuesday. I enjoyed the design question about store inventory. Could you tell me where my application stands and what the next step is? I am happy to send anything else you need.

Send it once. If you get no reply in another week, send one more note. Check your junk folder before you do.

Can You Reapply, and How Soon?

Walmart publishes no waiting period for technology roles. It does say that applications for hourly roles stay in its system for 60 days. Global Tech roles are not hourly, so that rule does not apply to you.

About six months is the usual advice for a company this size. That is typical for companies of this size, not confirmed. A different team, a different level, or a referral all help.

Location is another option. Walmart Global Tech lists United States offices in Bentonville, Silicon Valley, Hoboken, Seattle, and Reston. You can apply to a different site the second time.

What to Wear

Most of these rounds happen on video. Candidates report a remote loop for technology roles. Business casual is the safe choice.

Wear a plain shirt in one solid color. Skip thin stripes, because cameras render them badly. Sit in a quiet room with a plain wall behind you.

Test your camera and microphone the day before. Keep your phone charged and nearby. If the video fails, you can still join by phone.

For an office visit, the same clothes work. Bring photo identification for the front desk. Arrive about ten minutes early.
