What Is the Tech Mahindra Assessment Test Pattern?

The reported pattern is three online tests taken in sequence. Candidates describe an aptitude and essay test of about 60 minutes, a technical and psychometric test of about 90 minutes, and an AI evaluated communication test of about 20 minutes. In campus drives all three are usually held on the same day.

Tech Mahindra does not promote a single branded exam name the way some peers do, so candidates and preparation sites simply call it the Tech Mahindra online assessment. Its coding first route is announced as the Supercoders hiring challenge. These patterns are revised between hiring cycles, so confirm the current sections and timings in the official notification for your drive.

Communication testAbout 20 minutes, AI evaluatedPronunciation, grammar, listening, fluency

The Aptitude Section

The aptitude part is reported as easy to moderate. The difficulty comes from the time limit, not from the questions, because each part is timed separately. Practice full timed sets rather than single topics. Reported topics are the standard placement list: percentages, profit and loss, ratios, time and work, time speed and distance, number series, and data interpretation.

The Essay

An essay of up to about 200 words follows the aptitude questions in most reports. Candidates usually choose one topic from two or three offered, and the topics are general rather than technical. Graders look at grammar, paragraph structure, and whether you answered the topic. Write a short introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, and leave two minutes to reread.

The Technical Section

This part has multiple choice questions on programming and on computer science subjects. Programming questions are reported as pseudocode and output questions in C, Java, or Python. Computer science questions come from operating systems, database management, computer networks, software testing, and basic data structures. Complexity questions appear often, so be able to state the running time of common operations.

The Coding Section

Candidates report two coding problems in the same session, with about 45 minutes for both. Reported problems are at the easier end of an interview set. Examples candidates name are converting a decimal number to binary and finding the longest palindromic substring.

Scoring is by test cases passed, so submit a working solution for the simple cases before you try to optimize. General guidance on screens of this type is in what an online technical assessment is.

The Personality Section

A personality questionnaire is reported in the same session, with statements answered on a five point scale. It is not a knowledge test. Answer consistently and normally, because similar statements repeat in different words to check consistency.

The Communication Test

The third test is an AI evaluated speaking test. Reported tasks are reading aloud, repeating sentences, correcting errors, answering short comprehension questions, and speaking for about a minute on a general topic. Most accounts report about 20 minutes, while some report a much longer session, so treat the timing as approximate.

Use a quiet room and a working microphone. Speak at a steady pace, because the system scores clarity rather than accent.

Eligibility

Drive notifications commonly publish a bar of about 60 percent in class ten, class twelve, and graduation, with no active backlogs at the time of the drive. A gap of up to one year in education is reported as acceptable in several published criteria. The Supercoders challenge publishes a higher bar, reported as about 65 percent in class ten and class twelve with about a 6.5 CGPA in graduation. Eligibility differs by drive and by degree, so the notification for your drive is the only reliable source.

How the Test Is Scored and What Happens Next

Each online test acts as an elimination gate in candidate reports. Clearing the aptitude test alone does not advance you, because the technical test and the communication test each have their own bar. Several reports call the technical test the stage where most candidates are rejected.

Results are reported at about one week for the online phase, and the interview call at about fifteen days after it. Candidates who clear all three tests move to the technical interview and then the HR interview, described in the Tech Mahindra interview process. The reported wait after each stage is listed in how long it takes to hear back.

How to Prepare

  • Take full timed mock tests. Section timers are short, and speed is the real test.
  • Write two coding solutions daily. Grokking the Coding Interview covers the string and array patterns these problems use.
  • Revise core subjects from notes. You meet operating systems, databases, and networks again in the technical interview.
  • Practice speaking for a minute. Record yourself on general topics and listen for filler words.
  • Prepare the interview answers early. Start with how to answer why Tech Mahindra, because the HR round always asks it.
