How Long Does It Take to Hear Back After a Trade Republic Interview?
Glassdoor reports an average of about 23 days to hire at Trade Republic, from a sample of about 81 submitted interviews. Engineering reports describe longer processes than that average. Candidates describe processes of about three weeks at the shortest and about two months at the longest.
One frontend candidate reported four stages inside three weeks. Candidates do not report a fixed wait after each separate round.
Individual waits vary widely around those figures. Many applicants report no reply at all after applying. Some candidates report weeks of silence between rounds, followed by a recruiter asking to schedule the next stage.
Timeline by Stage
| Stage | Typical wait | What is happening |
|---|---|---|
| After you apply | Days to several weeks | A recruiter reads the CV and the written answer; many applicants report no reply |
| After the intro call | Days to weeks, varies by report | The recruiter sends the take-home project or closes the file |
| After you submit the take-home | No fixed number reported | Two senior engineers read your code before the review round |
| After the code review round | No fixed number reported | Scheduling for the design round, which needs two senior engineers |
| After the system design round | No fixed number reported | The two interviewers write feedback and compare notes |
| After the behavioral round | Days to several weeks, varies by report | A decision, then an offer or a rejection |
Why the Wait Varies
Three reasons appear across candidate reports. The first is scheduling, because two rounds need two senior engineers each and the behavioral round needs two engineering managers, so six people may be involved. Finding slots for all of them takes longer than reading your code.
The second reason is a change to the plan, since some candidates report a round added late, such as a director call. The third is recruiter turnover. One candidate reported that the recruiter who arranged the first call left the company, with no handover and no reply afterward. Ask for an expected date at the end of every round, and ask who to contact if that date passes.
Does Trade Republic Send Rejection Emails?
Candidates do report rejection emails, and they describe a short standard message with no specific reasons. Requests for written feedback often get no reply at all. Several candidates report silence instead of a rejection, including after two completed interviews. One backend candidate reported no answer after the intro call, despite several follow-up messages.
The reports are not all negative, because some candidates describe a well documented take-home brief and written notes on the submission. On Glassdoor, about 53 percent of candidates who rated the experience rated it positive, and the difficulty rating is about 2.74 out of 5. Slow communication is still the most frequent complaint across the reports.
How to Follow Up
Send one email to the recruiter two working days after the date they promised, or one week after the round if no date was promised. Keep the message short and factual, and ask one clear question.
"Hello [name], thank you for arranging the system design interview on [date]. I am writing to ask about the status of my application for the [role] position. I remain very interested in the team, and I am happy to send any further information you need. Could you tell me when I can expect an update?"
Send at most one follow-up per week, and no more than two in total. If two emails get no reply, continue applying elsewhere and leave this application open. Check your spam folder every few days, because take-home invitations often arrive from a hiring platform rather than a company address.
Can You Reapply, and How Soon?
Trade Republic does not publish a reapplication policy, and candidates do not report a fixed waiting period. Three to six months is typical for companies of this size, but that is typical and not confirmed for Trade Republic.
Two rules apply in every case. Apply again only when something real has changed, such as a finished project or a skill the posting asks for. Also prefer a different open role, unless the same role is posted again. A rejection at the CV screen matters far less than a rejection after the final round.
What to Wear
Most Trade Republic interview rounds happen by video, so plan for the camera first. Engineering roles are hybrid, with two to three days a week in the office. Trade Republic is headquartered in Berlin, so an onsite round is possible late in the process.
For a video round, wear a plain shirt, blouse, or sweater in one solid color. Avoid tight patterns, because they look blurred on camera. Test your camera, microphone, and connection one hour before the call. Sit with a light source in front of you, not behind you.
For a round at the office, smart casual is enough, so a shirt with clean trousers or a skirt is appropriate. Trade Republic is a licensed bank, but candidates do not report a formal dress code, so a suit is not needed.
How to Prepare
- Know the full sequence. What is the Trade Republic interview process like? lists every reported stage, so you can tell which wait you are in.
- Use the wait to study design. What to expect in the Trade Republic system design interview covers the savings plan execution problem in that round.
- Keep the motivation answer ready. How to answer why Trade Republic covers the question that returns in the behavioral round.
- Rehearse stories while you wait. Grokking Modern Behavioral Interview turns your past work into answers an interviewer can score.
- Keep drilling patterns. Grokking the Coding Interview keeps your coding practice going between stages.
