How Long Does It Take to Hear Back After a Zepto Interview?
One detailed report lists two days after the coding round, five days after the design round, and four days after the hiring manager round. Aggregated interview reviews for Zepto in India give an average process length of close to two weeks across all job titles.
Some candidates report a much faster result, within a day or two of the final conversation. Others report no reply at all after the final round, and slow scheduling between rounds. Plan for both outcomes, and keep other processes active while you wait.
Timeline by Stage
| Stage | Typical wait | What is happening |
|---|---|---|
| After an online assessment | Not consistently reported | The recruiter reviews scores and shortlists |
| After the coding round | About two days, reported | The interviewer writes feedback and the next round is scheduled |
| After the low level design round | About five days, reported | Feedback is collected, sometimes from an outside interviewer |
| After the system design round | Not consistently reported | Panel feedback is gathered for senior roles |
| After the hiring manager round | About four days, reported | The result, then the HR conversation |
| After the final round | A day or two in some reports, silence in others | Internal approval of the offer |
Does Zepto Send Rejection Emails?
Reports are mixed. Several candidates describe a recruiter who stayed in contact after each round and gave a clear result. Others describe a final round followed by no message at all.
One candidate also reports an offer that was withdrawn after acceptance because of a change in hiring plans. That is one report, not a pattern, but it is a reason to keep your other processes open until you have joined.
Detailed feedback is rarely given. Recruiters usually say the profile was not a match for the role. If you want more, ask your recruiter directly and accept a short answer.
How to Follow Up
Send one email to your recruiter about a week after the date they gave you. Keep it short and free of pressure.
"Hello [name], thank you again for the [round name] interview on [date]. I remain very interested in the [role] position on your team. Could you share where my application currently stands, and when I might expect an update? I am happy to send anything else you need."
Send it once. If nothing arrives in another week, send one more note, then treat the process as closed.
Can You Reapply, and How Soon?
Zepto does not publish a reapplication policy, and candidate reports do not name a fixed waiting period. Six to twelve months is typical for companies of this size, but that is not confirmed for Zepto. Treat the gap as time to fix the round where you were rejected.
Two practical points apply. First, a different team runs a different panel, so a new opening is worth an application even after a rejection. Second, candidates report several entry routes, including the careers page, referrals, off-campus application forms, and an external hiring challenge. If one route produced no reply, try another next time.
Notice Period and Joining Date
The HR round covers the notice period directly, so have the exact number of days ready. Indian product companies often prefer candidates who can join sooner, and some negotiate a shorter period with the current employer.
Zepto is a fast moving company, and reports describe short gaps between rounds once the process starts. Expect the same urgency in the joining discussion, and decide your earliest honest date before the HR conversation.
What to Wear
Most rounds are on video, and candidates report interviews conducted through an outside interview service as well as with Zepto engineers. For a video round, wear a plain collared shirt or a plain top. Choose a solid color, avoid strong patterns, and sit with a light source in front of you rather than behind you.
For an onsite round, smart casual is the standard at Indian product companies. A shirt with trousers is enough, and a suit is not expected. Carry a laptop you can code on comfortably, and confirm in advance whether the company provides one.
How to Prepare
- Ask for the schedule in the first call. Recruiters will name the expected number of rounds and the usual gaps, so write the dates down.
- Keep other processes running. Reports include both fast offers and long silence, so do not stop interviewing after a strong round.
- Use the wait to practice. Study the Zepto interview process and the Zepto system design interview between rounds.
- Prepare the motivation question properly. It returns in the hiring manager and HR rounds, and how to answer why Zepto gives the structure.
- Rehearse your stories out loud. Grokking Modern Behavioral Interview covers the hiring manager and HR conversations.
